Little bee - Ceratina - male

Little bee - Ceratina - Male
Alameda County, California, USA
April 24, 2010
Size: ~6 mm
About noon, this bee repeatedly returned to perch on the end of a hollow, dry stick between flights. It looked gold and black; the gold doesn't show up so well in the photos.

Small carpenter bee.
Nice shots of a male Ceratina. White "lip" gives away gender. Females have much smaller white markings, if any.
