House Fly - Caricea alma

House Fly - Caricea alma
47.63048N 52.68739W, Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
April 25, 2010
Size: 6 mm head to wing tips
This fly was on the inside windowsill in our bathroom. I'm kinda breaking a BugGuide 'rule' here because this fly was dead. I didn't realize it though until after I had taken a couple of photographs and it didn't move. I guess that's the reason for it's dark eye colour. How can a fly die 'frozen' in position like this?
