unknown on lichen - Hyalopsocus
Hondo, Medina County, Texas, USA
April 24, 2010
Size: 5 mm
Noticed movement like a spider. This is definitely not a spider, but fast crawler. It did not fly, but has nice wings, so I assume it can fly.

Wish I had that specimen
This one looks like a Hyalopsocus sp. I have found in San Patricio, Hays and Bastrop counties (Texas). The wing looks very much like H. floridanus, but lacks the spots at the wing margin. The pigmented arms of the sungenital plate do seem to differ from floridanus though. I wonder how many un-described species of Hyalopsocus are out there!

Probably Hyalopsocus sp. -- Ed Mockford det.
Moved from Psocinae.

Andy's in the right subfam, for sure; i'll show the beast around
Moved from ID Request.

Bark Louse
Maybe something in Metylophorus? I don't know them, so best to wait for an expert.
