Queen's Forewing Venation - Camponotus modoc - Enumclaw, Forested Unincorporated King County, Washington, USA April 20, 2010 Size: 17mm
She ran around "flitting" in the cup and preening all the time and eventually I saw both the forewings just fall off. I guess it's a natural process? She even dragged them around in her mouth for a little bit, moving them to different sides of the container. In the last image of this set you can see her without the forewings.
