I was just going to ask if it could be a Darkling beetle. Not much like most Darklings I've seen. I found this guy in between my window and screen.

those stinkers are mostly found under bark, a large & pretty tough genus; as a rule of thumb, a beetle that makes a trained eye wonder about fam. placement has over 90% chance to turn out a teneb

 
Size variable?
I saw the other posted specimen was 6 mm (and another was 10) and I double checked mine and corrected it to 11 mm instead of 12. Can they vary in size this much? I can take more shots... I still have it.
