Hemitaxonus
I and some others still use this name. It has been used for more than 75 years and is well established in the literature.

Hemitaxonus vs. Thrinax
According to ECatSym, Hemitaxonus Ashmead, 1898 is a junior synonym of Thrinax Konow, 1885. Is your position that Thrinax is for some reason invalid, or that the Nearctic species are different enough that they warrant placement in a separate genus? I will certainly defer to you; I'd just like to be able to explain on the guide page why we're deviating from our taxonomic standard in this case.

Incidentally, I had created the Thrinax section for this image over a year ago. I'm curious for your thoughts on the ID of that larva.

Tenthredinidae, Selandriinae
Hemitaxonus albicopictus. A fern-feeding sawfly.
