I have never seen one like this larva and would love to see it in the flesh so to speak. Did you see it glow? Did it have any light patches or light organs on the terminal end ventrally? It does look very firefly like, but I am not entirely convinced. Hopefully you will find more and send one or two to Joe Cicero for verification as a Lampyrid or attempt rearing them out. For sure look for glows in the dark or the light organs if you find any more of these little fellows.

actually, this correlates somewhat to #540439 except that it has orange lateral thoracic lunules while the other one doesn't....still don't know what it is, but the mandibles are showing so it def is a lamp
