8417 - Mycterophora rubricans
I sent the photo to Don Lafontaine who check it against a series in the CNC. It is 8417 - Mycterophora rubricans according to current taxonomy, but might in the future be synonymized under M. monticola.

Probably ? Mycterophora: Possibly 8416 - M. geometriformis
.... the describer thought it looked like a Geometrid. Several species in genus for which we have scant examples. I'm not sure if the California Moths Database provides sufficient information about distribution, dates. I'll save this tentatively under 8416 at MPG and try to get expert opinion on it.
