I found this dead little beetle about 6 inches from some old dried up fruit I have laying in the yard. It was very flat.

Moved from Clown Beetles.

is the family this one belongs in. Not fuit eaters, but might have been interested in larvae that were eating the fruit.

I agree, a Hister Beetle in the genus Hololepta. The flat size you mention is related to the habitat in which I usually find them: under bark.

Nice images!

Thank you,
Now thats fast service. There were also quite a few torn apart large millipedes surrounding the area, but yes plenty of flies, beetles, and hornets still visit.

There could be glow worms there
I think glow worms feed exclusively on millipedes, so those millipede parts could indicate their presence.
