Damsel Fly - Enallagma carunculatum - male

Damsel Fly - Enallagma carunculatum - Male
Milton, Washington, USA
May 23, 2004
I haven't had a chance to ID this yet. Very paitent bug. I almost got it to perch on my finger.

Changed our minds
Revisited our Oregon slides and realized we were just distracted by the color. Much happier with Enallagma carunculatum for this now. Check http://www.sonic.net/~bigsnest/Pond/Lists/enca-m1.jpg and see what you think. Their description: size: small - medium, length 26 - 37 mm description male: more black than blue; 3rd abdominal segment = or >50% black; segments 8 and 9 blue;

No help
I'm fairly helpless with these. My references for damsels are limited to the Southeast.
