Ventral Abdomen - Hibana sp. - Hibana incursa - female

Ventral Abdomen - Hibana sp. - Hibana incursa - Female
San Mateo County, California, USA
April 25, 2010
Ventral abdomen of a Hibana sp. adult female (likely H. incursa) showing the anterior placement of the tracheal spiracle, much closer to the epigastric furrow than the spinnerets, which is indicative of this genus.

Moved from Hibana. Thanks for catching that, J&J - moved. I think I incorrectly believed that I needed to place this image at the genus level in order to link it on the genus info page, for some stupid reason. I also tried to link this image back with my other four of this spider, but it wasn't showing yet - might be a lag or I'll have to do it again later.

Nice view
for genus ID. Thanks

..
Nice, Ken. I like your labels. What program did you use to insert the text?

Thanks, John -
I used Photoshop Elements. The text boxes are still too small - I'll try to make them bigger. Just wanted to have something for the genus info. page.

BTW, thanks for the wonderful diagnostic images you've submitted recently - you've added a lot of new spider species to BG! :)
