Cerulean Looper Moth - Caenurgina caerulea

Cerulean Looper Moth - Caenurgina caerulea
1/2 mile north of Westwood , Lassen County, California, USA
June 23, 2008
Size: Forewing length 16mm
I have added this photo of the same specimen since it shows the "blue" color of the hindwings more nicely. The latin word "caerulea" apparently means "deep blue in color like a clear sky" - as in the saying, "cerulean waters and golden sands."
