Temnostoma balyras. Yellow setae on 4 and 5 tergite.

Most definitely a fly.
A syrphid of some kind, I expect. In fact, I'll go so far as to mention that it looks a great deal like Temnostoma.



But don't hold me to the genus. I'm no expert, and I've been fooled before. Wait for a more informed opinion. :)
