Identification
The telson is hourglass-shaped in all of our members of this family vs trapezoidal in Armadillidiidae
Range
Tropical and southern; in our area, across the south (GA‒FL‒CA)
Remarks
Venezillo arizonicus and V. microphthalmus in so.CA are very rare, probably being displaced by nonnative spp.; V. pisum is the only species in FL (endemic & uncommon); and Texas seems to have a few poorly described species.
