Seven-spotted lady beetle for April in PA - Coccinella septempunctata -
Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA April 16, 2010 Size: 5 mm long
This is a female, because she laid eggs in captivity. She has some damage to her wing covers (elytra), but had no problem flying because the elytra aren't used in flight.
