Color change - Megalographa biloba

Color change - Megalographa biloba
Alameda County, California, USA
May 6, 2010
For five days, the creature in the cocoon showed little change. It looked like the original green caterpillar, except that it shrank and the amount of webbing increased slightly. This morning, color changes were visible, including black patches. Photo taken at 11:26 a.m.
