Pyrgus - Burnsius communis

Pyrgus - Burnsius communis
Virginia, USA
July 28, 2004
I think this is Pyrgus communis, can anyone confirm this? Thanks

There's only one similar one
in FL - I don't know about VA but I suspect this is true for you too. The similar one would be P. oileus. P. communis can be distinguished by several characteristics: lines not blurred; missing small white apical spot on the FW; marginal spots on the hind wing are very small. I think you're exactly right with your ID.

Thanks
Thanks for your help! I will move this shot to the P. communis page.
