Big Millipede - Narceus americanus-annularis-complex
Carderock, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
May 6, 2010
Size: >2"
I rescued this large millipede off the middle of the path in Carderock, and also from onslaught by a bunch of ants, so I don't know how it fared, but it was initially just lying there and then rolled up when I started poking it off the path. I was glad to see movement, because I usually find the stepped on and dead on paths.
