Infested beetle - Germarostes globosus
Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA

Size: ~ 6 mm
When I first saw this small fellow with my naked eye, I thought it was an unusual brown spotted beetle. Once I got him in the viewfinder, I felt sorry for him. Do they make Off for beetles?

Awesome pic of an interesting, non-commonly seen beetle! Thanks! The mites are phoretic and using the beetle for transportation.

...from the delugional area!
i saw these on a few occasions, in groups of 3-6, around the nearby picnic area -- and only learned much later that they are in fact not that common at all

I guess
that I am going to have to pay more attention to the smaller beetles as I really don't know how many of these I have actually seen.
