Dark rhyparochromid with small-looking head & reddish area of forewings - Eremocoris depressus
Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA
May 12, 2010
Size: ~7 mm
Came to UV light.

Moved very tentatively :)
Moved from Drymini.

neat bug; not sure if Eremocoris or smtg else, will show around

Merrill Sweet: "Tentatively, E. depressus, but i need to see it!
"I am not sure of this species and need to see the actual specimen!"

can this be done, John? as i said, this might be a nice addition, esp. w/voucher specimens. pls try to catch some. thanks again! =v=

I have it still alive
Do I just freeze it, then mail it to him inside a plastic baggie, or ...?

i've sent you a note to put you in touch with Dr Sweet directly
this is my idea of how to handle it: put the bug in a small container [plastic tube w/a good stopper would be the best option] with a little EtOH/vine spirit (but short-term isopropyl alcohol ok, i guess) as a preservative; plastic tubes can be safely mailed it small padded envelopes

Thanks
