Diachus - Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA May 6, 2010

This is a good Diachus sp. It's a central Texas specialty. It's probably undescribed. Your image is of a male - males are always bicolored. Females are uniform greenish. I've taken it by beating "Spanish oak" [Q. buckelyi] early in the spring. (E. G. Riley, pers. comm. 2010)
