Wasp possibly Crabronidae - Philanthus multimaculatus

Wasp possibly Crabronidae - Philanthus multimaculatus
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA
April 27, 2010
Size: BL~14 mm
This wasp was flying in and around Honey Mesquite in Coyote Canyon. I'd guess a Crabronid since the wings are not folded, but I have no ideas as to genus. I will post another photo showing the abdomen and side of thorax. Any help will be appreciated.
