Flying around fast and low, spent a lot of time on flowers (Anacyclus pyrethrum var. depressus. Sometimes shy, sometimes allowed close approach from above.

reminds me of Peleteria, but i'm not sure

 
I'd say Peleteria also, but with about 90% certainty
That's based mostly on the photo showing side of face and antennae.
