Is there something other than
Is there something other than antifreeze that would be effective?

I've found this formula to be effective in preserving, but not bloating specimens, and it's non-toxic: 50% RV antifreeze (the pink non-toxic stuff - very cheap), 50% water, and a dollop of dish soap. I use this also in the collection jars for Lindgren funnels, at the bottom of Berlese funnels, and in U.V. light traps.
