"Nice photos! And very symmetrically arranged, too. These are indeed Parasitengona larvae, water mites to be specific (Hydrachnididae or whatever it is you call the group in Bugguide). Possibly they belong to the superfamily Hygrobatoidea but that is very very tentative. They are temporary parasites of the midge and will drop off once engorged. If lucky, they will land in the water and will then transform into predatory deutonymphs."
