I'm not sure if these are good enough for an ID, but I thought I'd try. I will happily frass if needed.

Tenthredinidae, Selandriinae
Strongylogaster distans. Larvae feed on ferns, but the only recorded larval host for this species is Pteridium aquilinum.

I thought it was at first a Braconid wasp, then I saw it pushing the tip of it's abdomen to the fiddlehead of the fern.
