Black Vine Weevil - Otiorhynchus sulcatus

Black Vine Weevil - Otiorhynchus sulcatus
Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
May 19, 2010
Size: 1 cm body length
Found this one on my kitchen carpet this morning. It looks a little like some of your photos of scavenger beetles, but I didn't find a match. It is slow moving, and seemed to prefer to stay still unless prodded.
