Small mating flies - Melanagromyza - Male Female

Size: 3.1 mm bl (the lower fly)
On parsley stem, midday. Second photo shows both eye arrangements apparently female, but photo above shows abdomens joined, not just flies mounted and pretending. Not sure what to make of this inconsistency.

Eyes
Many families of flies have similar eyes in male and female.

These look like acalyptrate flies.
