Dasymutilla aureola pacifica
Head is larger than thorax in this species. In D. vestita, the head is smaller.

for IDing the species. I often hesitate to post images of individuals which I assume are the same species as individuals in images I have previously posted. I'm glad I posted this one, otherwise I would have just assumed that it was another
D. vestita
, especially since it was collected in the same area. I'd appreciate it if you would look at
, I just now added this dorsal view which might help determine the species.
