Treehopper, actually (Membracidae).
It's hard to identify from that angle, but I'm wondering if it might be the "hornless" variety of the Oak Treehopper, Platycotis vittata:



I suggest you move this to the family level for Dr. Hamilton's attention.

yes, of course; but if you want my attention, do not put it under "miscellaneous treehoppers", because I check the families only once a year
