Size: ~ 5mm
This weevil appears to be associated with Big Galeta Grass, Pleuraphis rigida - several were found upon the plants, a shrubby, perennial grass.

At least for these larger, more easily photographed insects, I find this gathering and sharing of information on Bugguide fabulous. Thank you so much v. belov and Charlie - it was great meeting you at the beetle bash last summer!
