begrudgingly admitting I may have been wrong.
The difference in appearance is usually more obvious to me, but directions from which the photo is taken make a big difference too. Also, it seems I miscounted the number of cells in the wing. I went back to double-check, very sure I could say "take another look", and - well, oh well - oops. I WAS very sure, but it's good to be humbled occasionally :0)

That's why all my pencils still have erasers ;)
I miss some too....That's why all my pencils still have erasers & my computer a backspace/delete ;)
I was almost about to agree with you myself....Because of the angle, I wasn't 100% sure either, I thought Okanagana at first, but the wing cells and head width/proportion lead me towards Platypedia.
I still think cicadas can be tough, especially when all you have is a pic.

Definitely Okanagana,
but I don't know which species.

Looks like a Platypedia
I hear Platypedia spp. are currently emerging across parts of the Rockies, Great Basin and West Coast.
Being teneral (newly emerged) the color would not yet be fully developed, hence, not so usueful diagnostically.
Several Okanagana species can also be very similar in appearance and from this angle it's a bit hard to tell, however, I think Platypedia is likely.

Platypedia
the cells in the wing tips are rounder than in Okanagana
