Female on retreat - Metepeira
Newport Beach, Crysal Cove State Beach, Orange County, California, USA

Females lay their eggs in their retreat. Generally the longer retreats have a few egg sacs in them.
This one had only one sac.
Normally females would not be found like this, but I moved her for a photo shoot.
