Odorous House Ant, alate form - Tapinoma sessile

Odorous House Ant, alate form - Tapinoma sessile
Webb Canyon, ~2000 ft. elevation, Los Angeles County, California, USA
May 15, 2010
Size: ~5 mm
Any help in getting an ID for this ant I rescued from the landlord's swimming pool would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Surrounding habitat is chaparral and mixed oak woodland.

Moved
Moved from Ants.

Dolichoderinae: Tapinoma
This is the almost ubiquitous North American species Tapinoma sessile, in California found from the coast to the high Sierra Nevada meadows.

Thanks so much for the ID, James!
That makes perfect sense considering that our cabin is regularly overrun by large groups of these ants at certain times of year. I confess that I was unfamiliar with what they looked like in the alate stage of development, otherwise I might have recognized this species more easily. :-)
