And great images! The wings look so much like that of a bumble bee.

There are several males that have similar coloration.

Check to see if the ventral surface of the hind tibia is flattened and arcuate, not at all cylindrical. If so, this is D. foxi.

I agree, it looks like D. foxi to me as well. Certainly looks like all the males of that species I get in my yard.
