Aeolus mellillus? - Aeolus

Aeolus mellillus? - Aeolus
Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
December 29, 2005
Size: 8 - 9 mm
Found overwintering under concrete chunk in vacant lot. In this view it's stopped running around while cleaning its right antenna -- an activity that often affords the photographer a chance to focus on an otherwise roving subject.

Stephen submitted a Web site at the University of Alberta that had only a few click beetle images, but it had one that might be this species.
