Size: 4mm-6mm
These very small organisms anchor themselves to rocks in the fastest currents in many hill country rivers. These where anchored in a waterfall which made them somewhat difficult to shoot.

Moved from ID Request. Black Fly larvae. I don't know if I can ID beyond family from this picture.

They use those fans on the free end to filter food from flowing water.
