Observed outside at night on porch railing under a mixed canopy of Oak, Beech, Locust and Cherry trees.
Unable to get lateral and ventral views.

I spotted him in the dark, thanks to my head light.
I couldn't make out what I was looking at through the lens and kept focusing on the red spot which I thought must be an eye and was amazed when I saw it that it wasn't an eye after all.
Taking pictures in the dark can be surprising when the subject is small.
