Leaf roller

Leaf roller
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
May 29, 2010
We don't know if there's any hope in identifying these leaf rollers. They don't seem to move very far in the guide. This one was rolled up in a leaf of Basswood, Tilia americana. And we got a twofer. The myrids seem to get identified as Neolygus.

Moved

Today was the last day of final exams, so
now that school is out, we may try to find a way to raise some of these. There are certainly a gracious plenty o' rolled up leaves out in the woods!

Leaf rollers
Do leaf rollers belong to several different families?
It helps to ID them if we can raise them. These one should find a home now that it metamorphosed.
