Correction.

I thought we had concluded previously that the Bicyrtes was merely resting with its catch. Acrosternum are strict herbivores, not equipped with toxins to inflict lethal bites to other insects themselves. Please change the "headline." Thank you.

Thou art god for bug identification (I look no further than a reference from you on several web sites) But who 'dis *WE* you speak of? I look no deeper than two clicks on Google to find that "Species of Bicyrtes provision with pentatomids." http://cedarcreek.umn.edu/insects/025062n.html

(had to look up both Latin (biological?) words - so I don't claim to know what I am talking about - but - the picture and a little digging around does not completly convince! Could you be a little more specific?

The other image

He's referring to the other posting of this image under Bicyrtes, and possibly to comments elsewhere. Tom originally thought the bug might be the predator and the wasp the prey.
