Eggplant Flea Beetle - Epitrix fuscula

Eggplant Flea Beetle - Epitrix fuscula
Ackworth, Warren County, Iowa, USA
May 31, 2010
Size: ~2 mm
Several of these tiny, rotund beetles were on hole-ridden leaves of Horse Nettle (Solanum carolinense) in grassy old field this evening. I have seen the bug-eaten leaves for several days now (but always observed at midday), but could not find any associated insects until today.

Moved
Moved from Epitrix.

Moved
Moved from Beetles. Data point for Iowa.

They look like Flea Beetles (Alticini).
I'm wondering if they might not be the same kind currently feasting on a variety of my backyard plants:

Best to wait for an expert opinion, though.
