Lacewing egg

Lacewing egg
Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA
May 31, 2010
Size: 3.5 mm w/filament
This is a pretty small egg to "candle", but you can see the embryonic larva inside. At higher resolutions than allowed here, the segmentation of the larva can be discerned.

Cropped version of image?
Hi, Steven. I know that it wouldn't be as graphically pleasing as the composition on this first image, but perhaps you could add a second cropped shot of just the egg itself? It would be fascinating to be able to see more detail on the developing larvae!
