Checkered beetle - Enoclerus rosmarus

Checkered beetle - Enoclerus rosmarus
Vienna, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
June 4, 2010
Size: ~ 6 mm
It looks like Enoclerus rosmarus(1) except for the lack of black stripes in the middle. Is it still Enoclerus rosmarus?

i'm quite sure the faded band is within variation range
will have it checked
Moved from Beetles.

from Jacques Rifkind:
"looks well within the range of pattern for E. rosmarus. There's a similar, related species called E. angustus from VA and FL that has the black pre-apical dot reduced to a narrow border, and reddish abdomen."

Thanks, v!
