I don’t mean to ruffle any feathers, but I think this should stay here for the time being. Both of the suggested IDs seem equally plausible and, quite honestly, neither seems (to me) right on the mark. Given that none of us is an expert, I think we should err on the side of caution and hold off moving it until a lep specialist has given his/her opinion. Thanks.

Some local experts IDed it as 4881 Lipocosma sicalis.

They agree it is a darker 4881. Nice to get this guy resolved!

Not an expert...
and I am on a mini-laptop that doesn't have the greatest graphics but this looks like might be a Black-patched Glaphyria Moth (Glaphyria fulminalis).

That is my first choice, but I sent it in because I was concerned about the lack of white on the patches. Do you think it could just be worn?
