Flesh Fly

Flesh Fly
Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Kings County, New York, USA
June 5, 2010
Size: housefly
Southern California spoiled me with good bugs from January through December, but here in New York we're just starting to get enough to make it worth bringing out the macro lens. I haven't seen one of these for a while.

I spent a little time today trying to remember how best to set the camera for bugs. I haven't really done this since October. f/16, 1/250s seems to work reasonably well. Shutter speeds below 1/100s were worthless.
