Unfamiliar Bee - Anthidium manicatum

Unfamiliar Bee - Anthidium manicatum
Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Kings County, New York, USA
June 5, 2010
Size: Honeybee, or a tad larger
There were half a dozen or so of these collecting pollen in the bee garden today. I'm not sure if I've ever noticed this species before. It doesn't look at all familiar.
