Unknown Buprestid - Xylotrechus nauticus

Size: 18mm
BugGuide has several photos of a similar Buprestid from North Carolina that is identified as a pine borer. As it happens, this beetle was found at a house with an infected pine tree in the front yard. The residents claim these beetles are commonly found inside the house. Is this the beetle that is damaging their pine tree?
