Lots of these run the walls of the canals behind the houses in Flagler Beach - do I have it in the right place?

I think you are correct. Maybe
L. exotica
or
L. baudiniana
. I know next to nothing about these guys but have been trying to sort these out. Take a look at "Bulletin of the United States National Museum, Volumes 54-55"

. The former source mentions the number of of flagellum segments as significant. You might want to count them for starters. There are more illustrations at the Lander University website
