Bombus bifarius or occidentalis? - Bombus insularis - female

Bombus bifarius or occidentalis? - Bombus insularis - Female
Lake Roosevelt, Ferry County, Washington, USA
May 30, 2010
I took this to be B. bifarius as they appear to be in the neighborhood, but maybe B. occidentalis. An ID would be appreciated. 1 of 2

B. insularis
Parasite

Excellent!
This looked like one well-fed parasite-- surprisingly large. I suppose the size of the host doesn't matter if they're delivering food though. Any idea whether B. insularis invade Bombus fervidus or B. melanopygus nests though?
