Cropping
It would be sooo helpful if you cropped this image! It is only one of two representatives of this species and can be seen full size by only a handful of people, editors and experts. Everybody else misses the full size image.

In some of my earlier submissions I didn't crop too much to avoid too much grain in the shot, but that's not the point of bug guide. I hope this helps -- Matt

 
Yes
It helps the guide, the viewers and it also helps the contributor's chances to have their work fully appreciated. I am talking about the visual information, rather than the aesthetics. In my blog, many times I post images less tightly cropped than the ones here because they serve different purposes.
